When starting my research, one element I figured out early on was my key demographic. Searching ‘Ren Faire’ through any search engine will quickly paint a picture of what to expect.
I’ve chosen to aim my demographic towards 18–35-year-olds. The primary hobbies of my users should include crafts, fantasy, or re-enactment.

Transitioning into our benefactors, I showcased my fake stakeholders by designing place-cards for each individual group. I also chose this approach with my users. In the cards below I’ve chosen to include a brief summary of the groups, alongside their needs, as well as small scenarios and solutions.

Moving into the design and usability of my website, I chose to create a user journey map, using the site ‘Miro’ (Miro, 2025). Starting with a simple goal ‘Buy a ticket and attend the event’, I mapped the journey my user would take to achieving their mission. I chose to colour coordinate each section, highlighting titles, and use a dashed line to signify optional steps. I also added split pathways to help demonstrate choices for my user, whilst still leading them to the same result.

Finishing with my storyboard for my UX/UI. I chose to focus on two pages, including rough mock-ups of each step through my website. I wanted to establish a theme, choosing a colour pallet of muted greens and blues, allowing me to contrast through my use of text. I also added unique features like a shopping basket and account, which I used consistently throughout my design. Some of my final details came from the ‘Events’ page. I decided to create to separate calendars, one for festivals events, the other a day planner. I wanted to make a more interactive experience for my user, allowing them to personalise and save their schedule for their chosen event.

Overall, I feel I have a good starting point for my website/app and look forward to moving forward into the more detailed design stage.
